Caveman's corner 76- Aaron Mruk

  

We had on recently promoted purple belt and amateur mma fighter Aaron Mruk on the show.  Training #Jiujitsu introduces you to a lot of interesting people.  The image of combat sports is not always the best, but Aaron is an example of the stories that are not being told.

   I overheard him talking about a mission that he was going on in Hatti in the WNYMMA and fitness locker room and was instantly fascinated by his story.  Of course, since it is a deep and inspirational story Raymond was MIA.  Aaron talks about Jiu Jitsu, why he went on the mission (he isn’t religious) his wife their brady bunch family and taping his fingers.  We gave Dub and Matt Flores some shout outs and huge congratulations on Faixa Preta (black belt) to Dave Szprygada of Lake Effect and former Caveman’s corner guest.

   I have a very small voice in the community, but this is a story I feel like is worth sharing.  If you can pass this one along to your friends.  Hopefully it can inspire others to help.

Caveman's Corner 75- Ufc vet Sean Daugherty Grappling Industries

Had the one and only Sean Daugherty on the podcast last night.  He came to Buffalo with Grappling Industries and really did a great job promoting the tournament.  Sean came and gave a free leg lock seminar at WNYMMA and Fitness last night.  We talked about the last time that GI was in town and how cool it was that Dave Aguzzi faced all the criticism from the las tournament and made this year’s iteration much better.

   We talked about where Ray was, Sean’s life, his military service, training with Ken Shamrock at Lions Den, talked about Strong Style MMA.  Touched on how he but for a twist of fate would have been in Alex Steblings spot in Pride history.  Of course, we touched briefly on Conner McGreggor Kahbib.  Of all the things we talked about though we had to talk about the never-ending battle between Emil Fisher and John Gunther and what the deal really is with the Alpaca’s.

   I have had the opportunity to talk with a lot of guys and girls and the podcast, but this was a fun one.  I got to roll with the guest, buy him dinner and hang out.  It was good to see someone who actual is what that project on social media.  Thanks for the interview, seminar and the rolls.

Caveman's Corner 74- Tom Erickson Review of the UFC brawl

Had a great podcast with Tom.  It marks the return of Ray to the studio.  He brought his son so little Ray makes his first appearance.  If you are sick of out babble jump to the 24:00 minute mark and get to the good part.  The call is Fantastic.
